It was my thought at the time that your guess at 20 yards was plausible and had reason behind it. I think you are putting too much weight on the chest pellet(s). Do you know the angle of entry on that? His pattern tests at the longer ranges didn't jive with mine. And you are aware of the earlier 10 foot claim, right? Partisan crap aside, I started this because of range doubts and took the time and effort to satisfy myself on the issue. Short of buying a 28 gauge, I've done the best I can. The 78 year old man being up and out of the hospital in less than a weeks time is also a point for my side. Happy trails to you.
