AS, I too would rather dress warmly than turn up the thermostat. Or eat a popsicle before turning on the AC.

Solar panels, however, are too expensive and will never make up for their cost over the lifetime of the panels, even with the tax breaks. It's a nice thing to install if you have the money and want to make an environmental statement, but until the cost of energy rises substantially, it won't make economic sense. Good luck trying to get Sacramento to allow energy prices to climb.
