At the same rate as LT capital gains my friend! So sweet, careful investing could result in a max tax of only 15% (dividends and LT cap gains). If I was still working and had a great year, between income taxes, SS taxes, state taxes, self employment taxes over half "my great year" would be gone.

I'm liking this retired thing!

PS: Oh yea, regarding that patience thing, IMHO sitting with a dead stock for many years is not patience. Opportunities abound to be that 'patient'. While you are being good and patient, I'm out looking for and finding new opportunities. I like the strategy of being watchful over old friends. But when the trend is not your friend, you must be able to let go.
