Mr Rumsfeld said al-Qaeda and other Islamic extremists were bombarding Muslims with negative images of the West, which had poisoned the public view of the US. I wonder if this also means that its now open season on the Arab world press? Not that it hasn't been already...one of those "service by omission" issues in our own Traditional Media has been, (what seems to me), the extraordinary number of press people killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and beyond. I have seen total numbers published, but not in the sort of places I would call wholly reliable. Still, there have been enough reports, (and not to mention the rumors of intentionally-targeted casualties), to reasonably suggest that there is an under-reported story there.
