Having a problem with a Seagate external drive. First the drive was not being recognized. In device manager I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did show. Now, it does not respond, and freezes my system when I try to access. The drive light goes on and off and I hear a slight pinging sound coming from the drive.

When I reboot the system with the drive on the reboot is slow. Without the drive on the reboot is normal. Is the drive crashing? I have all of my backup data on this drive so need to do something or replace it, as I am without a backup.

I am going to try to connect it to another computer to see what happens.

Thanks,Rap
