Your Jewish station owner didn't slant what his stations produced. He simply made money off of what the market wanted. Maybe Murdoch is doing the same thing. Inherent in this statement is a more potent issue; that of treating news as a product to be shaped for targeted consumers, a concept that threatens to undermine a free and unfettered press' role in helping to maintain democracy by keeping the citizenry well-informed.
