CASTLETON NETWORK SYSTEMS SIGNS MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AGREEMENT WITH NEWBRIDGE NETWORKS
BURNABY, BC, Sept. 18 /CNW/ - Castleton Network Systems Corporation today
announced the signing of a royalty-based Development Project Agreement and
Software Licensing Agreement with Newbridge Networks Corporation. Castleton,
the experts in packet voice technology and a developer of innovative and high
performance network access products, is a Newbridge(R) Affiliate. This
worldwide agreement will see Castleton's AssuredVoice(TM) packet voice
technology integrated into Newbridge's frame relay products, as a result of
joint development activities between the two companies.
Castleton's AssuredVoice technology allows consolidated voice, fax and
data over frame relay, asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) and Internet protocol
(IP) networks. Through its adaptive features including jitter management,
silence suppression, traffic management, automatic gain control and echo
cancellation, AssuredVoice provides business-quality voice with high
reliability. The ability to provide end to end delivery of each application
with the necessary service guarantees, will be made possible through advanced
frame relay standards such as Quality of Service (QoS) and Fragmentation.
Voice calling flexibility over Frame and ATM networks will be accommodated by
the implementation and interworking of Frame Relay and ATM Switched Virtual
Services.
Working closely together, Castleton and Newbridge have integrated
technology for transporting voice over frame relay and ATM networks using
MainStreet platforms. This added functionality enables networks to have a
greater variety of robust, scalable and reliable configurations to meet
customer needs.
