Peter, quite true, but the way things have been going, there is nothing to prevent the private and public insurance carriers from doing the same. In fact, I believe that in some circles this has been going on surreptitiously for some time now.

Here are some more news tidbits to bring cheer to some of us as patients in the future.

It's only a matter of time before the insurance companies move on to other "high risk" groups. Obesity is an obvious one, as is consumption of alcohol. But how about when the all-knowing insurance companies and their anointed actuaries move on to hobbies which are perceived to be potentially dangerous, such as skiing, horseback riding, etc?
