Yes I do, especially political marketing.
We obviously hit a vein there. <g>
Seriously, I distrust politics and politicians too, and for good reason, as you so well pointed out.
And because of those reasons, I want to see all of our checks and balances restored and functioning as a brake on any half-baked notions that the fevered brows of power-mad ideologues may produce.
This will require significant Opposition. So...
Given that traditional Republicans, for whatever reason, have chosen to go along for the wild ride, playing the Quiet Game in the back seat while Father madly careens along the precipice, this hardly seems an option. And...
Given the nearly insurmountable obstacles that a third party must overcome before it can wield significant political power, this will take a lifetime, if then. That leaves us with...
A healthy Democratic Party. And while I have never identified with them formally, it dawns on me that these disorganized, circular firing squad-holding schlubs are my best chance at getting my country back.
So I want them to do better and actually stand up and actually grow a spine and actually get elected so that they can actually provide some Opposition.
And I think the best way for them to do so, is to present themselves to the public in such a way that We The People know who they are and what they stand for.
And I think the best way to do that is for all the Dems to get together and decide who they are and what they stand for and to let us all know, consistently and decisively.
And that is called marketing. |
