Well, Tom. Let's see. So far you have been big fans of

1. Harriet Miers

2. Mike Brown

3. Cherkoff

and now, the Port deal. What do they have in common: They were all bad ideas and all of them will be withdrawn or overturned. (we just need to give Cherkoff a couple more weeks - the port deal won't take that long)

The idea that we would grant operation of our ports to a company owned by the UAE is ridiculous. Republicans see it. Democrats see it. Why don't you? Cause GWB approved it?

I'm glad you enjoyed your cable show about the Palm Islands. Did the same show talk about the dubious record of the UAE in providing our government access to Bin Laden finances? Or that the port has served as a conduit for shipment of nuclear components to dangerous countries?

If there is a 1% that we are putting ourselves at greater risk by approving this deal, why do it?

Oh, and get that spellcheck out. It you really want to insult the Italians, continue to call them Italiens. And, yes,...I would prohibit the Italians (or the Mafia) from operating our ports. Why can't we repatriot such a critical management function? Couldn't Halliburton do it?
