Housing is a consumption, but it is a consumption that is consumed slooooooowly. Although I have had a few tenants that tried to test that hypothesis. Most Americans will die leaving their houses to their worthless relatives who will undoubtedly use the proceeds to take a cruise or get boob jobs or something equally consumptive.
