Just to explain to you a little about why the money matters so much in the Elgindy case....in a RICO case, the sentence, to a large degree, depends on the dollar amount to be forfeited. $12 million equates to a LIFE sentence. A few hundred thousand could equate to a quick view of the Pacific Coast Hwy.
