Crimson > the main objective of my writing today, is to nail the lie that to reject Zionism as it practised today is in effect to be anti-semitic, to be an inheritor of Hitler's racism.

Which is also my position in that it's a political argument, and therefore perfectly legitimate, to criticise the policies of Israel but anti-religious, and therefore anti-Semitic, to criticise the Jewish religion. This distinction is, of course, deliberately blurred by those Zionists who wish to justify any and every Israeli action on the basis of a religious purpose.

I justify my argument as to the separation of "church" and "state" by reference to the very religious Jews who are totally against both Zionism and the State of Israel.

Their position, however, is not my position. I accept the existence of the State of Israel as a fait accompli, but within the pre-1967 boundaries or something near those. In fact, it's on this basis that Hamas is fully prepared to offer Israel an indefinite-period "cease fire" and abandon the armed struggle.
