McCain doing real well with fund raisers and Rudy doing well on the stump in conservative areas. McCain has just enough crossover appeal to clearly beat democrats with flaws. Rudy could too but there is a fear of the unknown with Rudy as he is a liberal on most issues exccept fp and security while McCain all in all is a pretty conservative guy, although a maverick. Allen and Huckabee not attractive enough and Hillary could beat them. A solution for a guy like Allen is to cut a deal for veep for rudy if possible. That ticket might sell.
