I've got a quantifiable reason: 9-1-1.

Also, a number of American papers have run those cartoons that the Muslims are so upset about. Since they are quite willing to burn embassies (which are suposed to be protected by the host country) and kill people over them, why should we asumme there will be no spill-over here.

How are the employees of these companies checked out? What assurances have we there are no al Qaeda among their employees?

This is like hiring Japanese nationals to run Pearl Harbor during WW II.

Iraq Violence Takes Heavy Toll
AP - Tue Feb 21, 3:06 PM ET

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A car bomb exploded Tuesday on a street packed with shoppers in a Shiite area of Baghdad, killing 22 people and wounding 28, police said. It was the deadliest bomb attack in the Iraqi capital in a month. Terrified children screamed and several women wailed for their dead, crying, "the terrorists, may God punish them." Shattered bits of fruits and vegetables from vendors' pushcarts lay scattered on the street amid pools of blood.
