Because he was taunted by someone who showed up here just to be abusive; I asked Chinu not to respond further, and the matter seemed to settle after I banned the next deliberate taunter.

As for the people on the ban list, each committed a clear rude offense here before they were banned. Feel free to peruse the thread and check the history. I also go and look at the profiles of banned posters to see what they are posting elsewhere from time to time. When I see more abusive posts, they stay on the ban list.

And finally you will find plenty of folks from the left on the ban list too. The numbers are running about even, last time I checked.
