Lanxess - disinfectant effective against bird flu FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German chemicals firm Lanxess (LXSG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday its Preventol disinfectant had been successfully tested to combat the bird flu virus H5N1, sending its shares to an all-time high. Lanxess said in a statement that tests conducted by the German University of Giessen had shown that Preventol CD 601 was highly effective against the virus. Lanxess shares were trading 4.6 percent up at 28.75 euros by 1020 GMT (5:20 am EST).
