Dear James:
If you remember I have posted to you before.
Just asking for a little spritual advice.
Six years ago I joined what I thought was going to be a really happening church. I wanted to be a part of an on fire church at least once in my life.
Well it happened. The church grew from 100 to over 500 members in this time, new scantuary , the whole program. Regular attendance from say 100 to 325.
The problem is that it leveled off about 2 years ago, and while attendance has stayed about the same, Sunday school and Wed night and other programs, youth ect. have actually declined.
IMHO the problem has been the current group of church leaders who have filled the positions of church responsibility. The pastor of course has filled these positions , for the most part.
These people come across to me for example with the appeal of an undertaker. Very religious, prayerful, faithful but you never see fruit in their lives. I asked them to pray for a friend of mine --she died at the age of 40. They testified in court for a young man ;he got the maximum sentence. Their family members are not saved. You never see them bring anyone else to church with them. I ran into one of them on the street the other day and greeted him saying Hello ------ How are you today ??? His response was ...We have choir practice tomorrow night at 7:00 .
I have never been accepted in this in this body because I belong to a country club and play golf and am very prosperous.
My relationship of 30 years with the LORD is "perfect" from my viewpoint of HIM. I have never felt condemnation from HIM and looking back I have never had reason to doubt HIM although I have done so many times at the time.
My children are all saved, family members have been healed of cancer, heart disease, hydrocephalus ect. I have led 17 people into the saving grace of the Lord and several more very soon. I am secure in my salvation and would like to see our church turn around.
Many people used to get saved there but it has dwindled almost to nothing
