Small children and dogs are the definition of unconditional love that is for sure. We travel too much and a dog would be alone too often and I don't think that is fair to a dog so we have a cat instead. Our cat is the most vocal and social cat I've ever seen and makes a great pet but cats are ok with being alone for several days also. That isn't for dogs.

My last lab had a nervous breakdown or something. It became afraid of everything and it was only a matter of time before it bit someone so we had to put it down. I said no more, I have friends to hunt with that have dogs.
