An expiry date and the product is on the shelf? So what? I constantly use time-expired products. It's not as though the label is hidden. Customers don't have to buy it. It's not as though they aren't fit for purpose.

If they aren't fit for purpose or comprise fraud, the buyer has legal remedy and the stores will NOT want to be upsetting customers by doing bad stuff. They have brands to maintain.

I suppose the story about the news team lying their way into to take film is about how bad they are. I don't think lying is illegal, other than in certain circumstances [courts and to such "authorities"]. Fraud is illegal. They are different things.
