I have utmost regard for most medical professionals.

My daughter spent weeks in IC after complications from surgery. Her best nurse was a middle aged man. He told me that in a previous life he had been a butcher.

That did not bother me in the least, because years ago when I brought the boned out meat of an elk I shot to a butcher, the man told me he could identify every single muscle in the container. I couldn't do that, and I was the one who had cut the elk up after shooting it. (He said I had done a good job.)

Suppose that I had freaked out when the nurse told me he had been a butcher. Do you think my daughter's care would have suffered? Most of the time, probably not all, you get what you expect and you receive in kind the treatment that you give.

In medical situations and life.
