I have health insurance, Blue Cross / Blue Shield, a husband and wife plan. I don't know where you got the idea that I don't have health insurance. My comments about health insurance have been to say that it was a mistake to attach it to employment and I don't want a government health insurance simply because what anyone can buy in the private market is better and cheaper. It would be difficult to impossible match the price and benefits I get in my self-employed plan.

If I didn't have so much freakin insurance I would surely be a richer person. I have assets, my husband has assets. As long as you have assets you need insurance. If you don't have money you don't need insurance because lawyers don't go after people without assets.

I have:

health insurance
disability
life insurance
homeowner insurance
business insurance
auto insurance
personal catastrophe (umbrella to you)

I agree with you and Patron that the umbrella policy is one of the best insurance deals out there and it is stupid not to have one if you have assets you want to protect. One suit can easily exceed the minimum liability levels. One doesn't have to be at fault to be hit with a successful suit. Interviews with juries who have awarded large payouts confirm that even when they think that the defendant isn't at fault. They make awards because they feel sorry for the plaintiff, they think "someone should pay" and why not the guy with insurance.
