The funny thing is that I've not really taken a
position on this controversy, but would prefer to
have more data.

I've also been critical of the administration's
inability to get out in front of issues---not just
this one.

My primary comments have been to note the
inconsistencies of positions taken by those
of the knee-jerk liberal bent.

I also glean that there are some Republican
politicians who are raising questions most
vociferously as a means to distance themselves
from Bush, in light of his low poll numbers.

All that being said, I think that people who
express legitimate concerns over the proposal
are entitled to voice them. I would, however,
like concrete reasons as opposed to purely
parochial or stereotypical analyses.

I may even be inclined to agree that
this was a bad idea....if I had more facts
and time to find them..........or if the
administration fails to make a more
convincing case.
