I’m glad to see you’ve had a change of heart regarding health insurance.

I have long supported a move to either:

1.) a system like Switzerland where you are required to have your own health insurance policy and face fines and jail time if you let it lapse;

2.) a system like Australia where everyone is covered by Medicare, but those who choose to, can also purchase private insurance to obtain a better quality of care, in more elegant surroundings, with more procedures covered.

I recall you ranting about how these two “socialist” schemes would prevent you from dumping the costs of your health care onto the rest of society at large.

If the freeloaders who do not maintain insurance were covered by an insurance policy, the premiums you allege you pay for Blue Cross/Blue Shield would be roughly 50% lower - and you already think they are reasonable.
