I became disenchanted with National Geo shortly after having my photograph appearing in an article that was very unfair to my professional sensibilities.

You can check it out if you want. Lots of old NGs around.

Vol 162, No. 3, September 1983. Use And Abuse of National Forests. Page 319.

Ironically, in that same issue there was an article about avalanches. Several pictures from avalanches in Juneau, where I could see the healed paths from my office window.

I check out NG in doctor's offices, and finally asked for a subscription for Christmas, which I got. One of the first issues had most of its space devoted to -- I kid you not -- LOVE.

Go figure.
