GALLERY RESOURCES ANNOUNCES OKAK BAY DRILLING PROGAM
AND SIGNIFICANT MINERAL DISCOVERY AT HARP LAKE

Gallery Resources Ltd. announces that the Diamond drilling program on
its Okak Bay property in Northern Labrador is scheduled to commence.ÿ
The Company is mobilizing a Boyles model 56 drill rig to the site.
Two deep holes are planned to carry out initial testing of two
conductive zones outlined at depths of approximately 1000 ft. and 2700
ft. and covering an area measuring 1500 ft .X 1500 ft. Information
contained in the detailed interpretation report and maps originally
expected on Sept.10/97 has now been received from Phoenix Geophysics
of Toronto, Ont.ÿ This information will be available within the next
few days on Gallery Resources Website. Website address: http://
www.gallery-gold.com and hard copy upon request from Gallery's Office.
ÿ

The Company also reports that significant copper-nickel-cobalt
mineralization has been identified on its Harp Lake 2 property in
north central Labrador.ÿ A ground truthing program completed in late
August has outlined several highly oxidized gossan zones.ÿ A total of
29 surface grab samples collected from these gossans have all yielded
highly anomalous concentrations up to 0.65% copper, 0.59% nickel, and
0.11% cobalt. Based on these results the company has sent its
geology-prospecting crew back to the property for a more detailed
evaluation and has increased the size of the property by staking an
additional 43 claims ( 2,000 acres).ÿ Project Manager, Victor French
reports that the field crew is presently working on one of three areas
on the 10,000 acre property hosting the mineralized gossans.ÿ Early
indications show that the extent of the gossan zones and contained
mineralization is greater than initially observed in August.ÿ To date
two separate mineralized zones, each measuring approximately 300 ft. X
500 ft. have been outlined.ÿ Fresh samples from outcrop also show that
the chalcopyrite-pentlandite rich mineralization locally ranges up to
semi-massive concentrations.

The mineralized gossan zones correspond with a cluster ofÿ 8 Airborne
EM anomalies. The mineralization is hosted in olivine rich rocks (
leucotroctolite and gabbro ) andÿ anorthosite of the Harp Lake
Intrusive Complex .ÿ Mr. French notes that this area appears to have
no previous record of documented mineral occurrences.

It is expected that the current phase of follow-up work will be
completed early next week with assay results being released early in
October. Mr.Costerd states, that based on the information received to
date further work programs will be carried out this season.
