Glenn, Welcome! Your post brings up fond memories of my three canoe trips in Canada. Two were into Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, and one into 90-mile-long Tagish Lake in BC/YT. One of my goals is to get out there and do some more canoeing in Canada. I will check out the book and magazine you referenced. Have you ever read this book? "Canoeing With the Cree" by Eric Sevareid amazon.com It's about a couple of young guys who canoed from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay via the Minnesota River and Red River. My Dad was about 10 years old when the went by his little town on the Minnesota River.
