AFTER THE BELL - Tektronix gains back day's loss

NEW YORK, Sept 17 (Reuter) - After hours, shares of Tektronix Inc (TEK) regained much of the ground they lost during the day on Wednesday and traded at 62, up 1-1/2 from their close.

Wednesday's close was 1-13/16 lower than Tuesday's closing price of 62-5/16.

Late in the day, Tektronix reported earnings for the first quarter ended August 30 of $0.80 a share, compared with $0.69 a share the previous first quarter and a First Call consensus estimate of $0.79 a share.

The company also said it would eliminate 250 jobs from its video division and take a $45 to $55 million charge for the downsizing.


Traders said that, other than Tektronix, stocks were not moving.
Well they are on the move today

Volume on the New York Stock Exchange after hours was 1,074,200 shares, compared with 648,500 shares on Tuesday in session one. Session two volume was 1,200,450 shares versus 5.97 million
