08:57 DRAMeXchange: DRAM market slow, NAND flash prices continue falling - Digitimes

Digitimes reports DRAM transactions remained weak in the week from February 14-21, with prices of most DDR segments remaining relatively flat. However, NAND flash price decreases continued with drops in the low-density 1Gbit segment picking up momentum, according to figures posted by DRAMeXchange. Weak demand and swelling inventory levels continued dragging NAND flash spot prices downward. The 16Gbit NAND flash segment led with a price drop of almost 15%, but even price drops for low-density parts are picking up speed. DRAMeXchange also noted that Apple's (AAPL) price initiations for its iPod nano line also dragged the lowest price benchmarks further down and suppressed profit making room for other players.
