Wonder and awe would not need to rest on centuries of superstition and flummery. The people would have no inducement to embrace charlatans and "prophets". Lacking the enticement of racial superiority or privilege for economic and political advancement, there would be no reward in creating secret societies of privilege (i.e. religions and "chosen messengers" speaking to gods and angels and so forth).

There would be no market for the invention of superstitious storm gods and hoary old men committing genocide to prove the superiority of this tribe or that. Fairy tales would be in one section of the book store. Philosophy would be in a different section. Those with spiritual inclination would love and care for the planet as their home. The last place they would seek for wisdom would be in the minds of primitive savages--if any of their "thoughts", indeed, had even been preserved in clay or stone.
