MedCare Program now in IL with Dr. Joel Slutsky and soon available through First Health Care, a leading Illinois based assisted living and nursing home firm.
MedCare appoints Dr. Jake Jacobo to Board of Directors, receives analyst's recommendation in The Dick Davis Digest and plans to re-locate its Overland Park site to a multi-physician urological practice.
Naperville, IL - - MedCare Technologies, Inc. (Symbol: MCAR) today announced plans to open The MedCare Program in Kankakee, IL, in conjunction with Dr. Joel Slutsky and Kankakee Urological Associates Ltd., a well established and respected multi-physician urology practice affiliated with Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. "We are pleased to have Dr. Slutsky and his associates join our growing list of physicians offering The MedCare Program for their patients," said Dr. Michael M. Blue, a board certified urologist and Director of MedCare Technologies. "I have personally been associated with MedCare for 10 full months and my observation is that The MedCare Program works extremely well, and am always a bit surprised, but very pleased to see how many of my patients, some of whom we had very little hope for, have achieved continence. While the Program works extremely well without drugs or surgery for urge and stress incontinence, we have also achieved a great deal of success with patients that have become incontinent due to radical prostatectomies. This success rate has resulted in a significant increase in patient visits into the Program from virtually none when we started to now almost 70 per month. This increased traffic has also definitely enhanced my overall urology practice."
MedCare further announced that it has agreed to initially make available The MedCare Program by year end in 2 of the 10 nursing and assisted living centers operated by First Health Care Associates, a leading operator of nursing and assisted centers with over 1500 beds. Rosemont, IL based First Health Care offers a wide range of services, including rehabilitation, parenteral and enteral therapy, skin and wound care, and has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years including the Governor's Award for Excellence in Long Term Care.
MedCare continues to develop and strengthen its core business
MedCare Technologies manages 6 MedCare Program sites (Norman, OK; Overland Park, KS; Winter Park, FL; Denver, CO; Raleigh, NC, and soon to open in Kankakee, IL). The Company's Overland Park site, with Dr. Herb Hodes, gynecologist, is in the process of being moved to a new location with a local urologist, similar to MedCare's other 5 program sites. "The last 12 months have been very exciting for us," said Mr. Harmel S. Rayat, Chairman and CEO of MedCare Technologies. "We have been constantly improving our business and marketing models. Now we are at a point where we have enough practical experience, managerial depth, a strong enough corporate infrastructure, and with over $4 million in cash and no debt, we are moving forward in opening new program sites on a national basis. Fortunately for us, we're also at a point where our forward momentum is igniting the interest of many people, including several industry giants interested in strategic alliances and a few well known analysts."
In a recently published issue of The Dick Davis Digest, Mr. Konrad Kuhn stated that "Urinary incontinence (UI) is one of the last hidden health issues of our day and age. With a proven 3 « year track record, the number of clinics on the threshold of rapidly expanding, and with 25 million incontinent individuals seeking the most effective, risk free UI treatment, MCAR is uniquely positioned for rapid growth which should project its stock price to an ultimate target into the high teens." Mr. Kuhn is a widely followed analyst, the publisher of The Kon-Lin Letter, and a member of the prestigious Mansfield Blue Ribbon Panel. MedCare Technologies announces the replacement of Diane Nunziato as a Director of the Company with Dr. Jake Jacobo. Dr. Jacobo, is a board certified urologist and president of Urology Consultants, one of Florida's leading medical practices specializing in general urology, urological conditions of the elderly, prostate cancer and related issues. The Company's Board of Directors wish to acknowledge the tremendous contribution that Ms. Nunziato, who resigns for personal family reasons, has made in the development of The MedCare Program, its policies and procedures and numerous clinical refinements.
The MedCare Program does not require FDA approval and is risk free.
MedCare Technologies has developed a cost effective, non-drug, non-surgical and non-invasive system for the care and treatment of patients suffering from urinary incontinence (UI). MedCare's treatment protocol does not require FDA approval, is covered by most health insurance plans and results in the reduction or complete elimination of 70% to 100% of the most commonly found UI symptoms. Unlike traditional treatment options, which are costly and often unsuccessful or inadequate, MedCare's treatment program is completely risk free and has a proven success rate in excess of 85%. Affecting some 25 million Americans, UI is a $16 billion market and accounts for almost half of all nursing home admissions. Despite being one of the most prevalent medical conditions in health care today, with almost half of all women being affected at some point, UI remains a vastly under-serviced and over-looked market place.
