<O'Reilly: U.S. should leave Iraq "as fast as humanly possible" because "there are so many nuts in the country">

This does look like a flip flop.... by that does he mean just get out though... or is he still saying do what makes sense, don't just leave? It's going to be interesting... without O'Reilly's support for Bush's staying in, beleive it or not, things could unravel quickly IMHO.

<." O'Reilly then claimed that the "big mistake" was actually "the crazy-people underestimation.">

You know his usage of words is downright abusive, and I DON"T like the guys attitude for sure... BUT the US absolutely underestimated the emotionality and attitudes prevailing in that society... The US also WAY overestimated the rationality of the population... or perhaps we should say misunderstood the conditions existing in the population which seems to somehow preclude a prevalence of rational, forwardlooking thought.

In simple terms... the administration assumes that everyone is pretty much like them... or like the US population. Pretty much typical egoic thinking. Interesting to O'Reilly would be that Neville Chamberlain was probably exibiting the same trait. He really (probably) couldn't imagine Hitler being THAT crazy, or the German people doing what they did or just go to war.

Bush knew he could blow away Saddam... and just assumed everyone would be dancing in the streets and lining up to run for president! LOL SURPRISE! Like the manic depressive... lots of people there apparently NEED to hate and have drama. It's apparently an emotional, repressed, and god knows what else, society.

If I were Bush?? When I see a couple of those guys hanging out by the shelter babbling to themselves and grabbing at imagined things in the air... I cross the street and walk past on the other side, keeping a watchful eye to make sure I don't get bonked with a bottle on the head. I'll mail my check in to the shelter (ie. give to the UN), I don't need to try and give the guy a piece of my bagel, or convince him that he is free to stop drinking. Bring in someone who understands.

JEEESH! Another blustery commentary by DAK.
