"No big surprise that Iran would be supporting them. And really, it is no big surprise that Saudi would support them." Yes the Saudis (Sunnis) and the Persians (Shi'a) are in POLITICAL COMPETITION to see who can gain the most 'brownie points'... because the Palestinian cause is politically popular in the Islamic world. "IF we had our own sources of energy....ALL the mideast would just have to suck eggs." True enough. That's why energy policy is a part of national security.
