Spank,

The agreement with Coherent does not suddenly make the Epilaser a viable
hair removal system. It still only removes hair very temporarily, at a ridiculously
high price.

I doubt that Coherent has any deep interest in hair removal, but wishes to protect
their market share by offering the latest laser fad.

Hair removal lasers are being purchased by physicians who think they can
make a fast buck. I suspect some have not done their homework; others appear
to be unscrupulous. No doubt the major manufacturers will each sell or place a
few hundred lasers world-wide over the coming year or so; however,
consumers will not knowingly pay 10 to 20 times the cost of waxing for little better
results. A few treatments will be sold through false and misleading promotion
suggesting permanent results, but as consumers realize they have been
conned, what little market there is will dry up. There will soon be a glut of hair
removal lasers, by which time the next laser fad will be announced.
