Kurds will have their own state and US will protect them if iraq breaks down. As a matter of fact border across the area might have to be withdrawn. For instance turkey has its eye on part of syria and syria has its eye on western iraq and the kurds have their eyes on kurdish areas of turkey, iran and syria. Its all out of the bottle now.
