So how does this work exactly ? Customer calls in saying: "I need to cover 5 million shares of Intel. If I just start buying, I think the price will get higher. However, if you downgrade it, and keep the price down, I'll do the buy through your brokerage, and you'll get a commission based on the average price."

I mean these brokers are not charitable or public service announcers, are they ?
