Is there a fund that is specific to canadian oil sands and that has a proven track record that you know of?

Here's one that trades on the Toronto exchange:

finance.yahoo.com

If you want one that trades on the NYSE but is a bit more diversified with some non energy Canadian companies as well, there's:

finance.yahoo.com

Here's a post on the SI oil sands board that lists some of their respective holdings:

I have a position in EWC, as well as SU, PCZ, ECA and CNQ (all traded on US exchanges and all a sea of green today) :-)

BTW, here's a blurb from a Business Week article on EWC:

ETFs can also be used to play the boom in commodity prices. Dave Fry, founder of the Web site ETF Digest (www.etfdigest.com) and a former managing director at one of John W. Henry's investment firms, JWH Investment Management Inc., says the iShares MSCI Canada Index (EWC ) fund is a good way to get in on the commodities boom. "As long as natural resources are hot, [Canada] will benefit," he says.
