Do you remember the incident back in the 80s when the several people died in a school climb on Hood? That was bad news.

I do.

The large Cascade peaks are very accessible to large metropolitan areas, and a lot of people attempt them who probably should not.

Even experienced climbers can run into trouble.

People die every year on Rainier, an average of three per year.
