Does that mean the paperwork sat on someone's desk for 2 1/2 months?
Quite possible. To come back and deny it for specious reasons would not reflect well on the US.
After a leaky freighter sails into NY harbor and sets off a nuke, that isn't going to sound so good.

Fine let’s look more closely, but I need way more evidence that something is wrong before I am willing to pitch our tolerance.
OBL declared war on us, remember? 2 of the 911 hijackers were from the emirates. And part of the money used to finance came from there.

Just what does have to happen before you get to ditch your tolerance? The French riots. The Iraq insurgency. The kidnappings and beheadings in Iraq. The London bombings. The Spain bombings. The USS Cole. The cartoon riots and deaths. Theo something killed in the Netherlands. The first WTC bombings. The crippled guy thrown into the ocean of a cruiser. THe '68 Munich killings. And I'm sure I've left incidents out.
What's it take?
