One of the cardinal rules of diving is to always dive with a buddy.

There are a lot of things that can get you into trouble, and it's good to have someone there to help out.

The particular location where this apparent shark attack took place has a number of caves. We were on a guided dive, and went into one. There was a 6' reef shark asleep on the floor. Out guide took my daughter's hand and had her touch the shark. She freaked out when it woke up and swam away indignantly.
