I guess that Hillary will be elected and can Bill be vice-president, which isn't president? I suspect that the 1990s will be seen as a hugely profitable idyllic time for the USA and so it was, for the most part. Captain Bill was the president and can rightly claim some credit for keeping things on the straight and narrow [not that he personally stayed particularly straight, or, on a narrow marital path]
<the Clintons understand the danger on the reactionary, isolationsist, jimmy carter, anti-american power left.>
I'm anti American power too, in the sense of getting out there and showing who is boss. That's 19th century gunboat diplomacy mercantilist thinking. All USA military power is good for is to show China that they can't just rampage into Taiwan and that North Korea had better not wave their nukes too enthusiastically and that Iran's maniacal mullahs can swear to kill all the Jews but they will meet a lot of resistance if they act on their vicious fantasies, [for example by trying to make nuclear bombs].
I saw a, translated so perhaps inaccurate though I doubt it, comment that the president didn't really mean that he'd get rid of Israel because of course one can't get rid of a country. The land mass just stays there. They meant they would get rid of the regime. Oh, that's okay then. Just neutron bomb the citizens, most of whom are in favour of the regime [since they vote for it].
