No strings, no limitations, and out of the sheer goodness of their hearts there will be formula milk distributed forever to all who want it, no charge and no restrictions?

The formula provided is presumably a sample supply. The objective for this "generosity" is to get the customer to come back for more, to get brand loyalty. Marketing 101. This is good for the company, it's probably good for the hospital because they probably get some consideration for their trouble, and it's good for the consumer because she gets something for free that she would likely buy anyway. I don't find anything even unusual let alone predatory in that.

I just got a inter-dental cleaning brush free in the mail. I signed up for it on a web site. They offered it free to get potential customers to try and hopefully like it, which means repeat business for the refill brushes. I don't find anything untoward about this, either. If you do, please try again to convey the basis of your concern to me. I'm not at all distressed about it. I'm actually quite happy to have gotten for free something for which I would have otherwise paid. Please tell my why I'm wrong to be happy about that transaction.
