Has anyone read Good Earth by Pearl Buck ? I have to smile as my daughter in law just came home with an 8 pound,21 inch boy... the day AFTER she had him. AND because her husband was tied up with a business deal she drove herself and the baby home. She is Hispanic and it didn't seem to bother her although she had two per cadet in her. I am not saying this is the right thing to do. She should NOT have driven herself home. However to make her feel better as she was angry and upset... I told her about Pearl's book where the Chinese peasants had babies in the field. They would drop them( have them ) and them put them in a sack and keep on working. There was a time when women spent 6 days in the hospital after having a baby. Here in Sarasota it is over night. Liceth is trying to get milk but having difficulty meanwhile Drew is screaming his head off so formula is the only way to go right now. My college roommate nursed her child for 2 years. This is the preferred way I think .... by pediatricians..
