How do they detract from anything? Dave and Bob have stated several times that an inordinate amount of their time is spent policing the political boards. This is time that they are not spending on monitoring the investment boards or, more importantly, working on new features to improve the site. You don't have to go to them. No, and I don't, but sometimes there is spillover and they come to me. What's a "good political" site? One where there an open and honest exchange of political ideas with good TOU for maintaining civility that are consistently and fairly enforced. For that to happen on a site this size my SWAG estimate is that you would need, at a minimum, six "Daves". Maybe that number could go down (but never to just one) after there's been time for behavior modification, but you would certainly need something like that at the start. That would cost money, and I don't want to pay for it.
