Tom, You actually raise a very good point. Thanks.

Lets say I talk to a representative of an oil sands junior (say IR or the CFO) and he says that off the record I can tell my group that 'xyz is about to occur' as long as I dont quote him.

Unfortunately SI doesnt have a 'PM Message Board members' function otherwise that would be good, except you'd never know if your message was forwarded on (and you might be liable in that case).

In my case I have had info I've wanted to let the board know about without putting myself or my 'Deep Throat' at risk.

In this case I know Mac well enough that I am prettty certain he's not using the board to pump and dump, besides most of the companies he mentioned are pretty liquid.

So how do we help out the members on the board with a piece of info without compromising our contact and without coming across the wrong way.

And I do know enough about Mac's sources to say no, this isnt grounds for a ban.
