MM, you are confusing Saddam with other people. <I am very intolerant of bad guys that dream of 72 virgins and prevail on our freedom and tolerance to kill us and their own bretheren.> Saddam is quite reasonable. Did you hear his comments from about 1989 re WMDs and nuclear car bombs in the USA? He was warning of such things and was not at all keen that that happen.

Why do you think Saddam had WMDs if he's just going to hide them whenever the going gets tough, only to bring them out again when the coast's clear? He didn't have WMDs. He would like to have had nukes and all sorts of course, but he didn't have them.

Laughably, he didn't even have programmes, which were searched for. In the end, he was considered guilty of having "Intentions to have programmes". Intentions to have programmes is quite a lot different from "40 minutes from decision to launching" which was claimed at one stage by "military intelligence".

It's not dishonourable to hide from well-armed monsters and avoid "fighting like a man". That's a silly idea. The whole point of fighting is to win, not get shot. If Americans weren't so cowardly, they'd "fight like men", up on their hind legs. They would throw aside all their cowardly body armour, electronics, Spectres, and other weapons, strip down to a loin cloth and ask Islamic Jihad to field the same number of combatants for hand to hand combat to the death in an arranged field of battle.

Americans hide over the horizon and up in helicopters and in tanks because they don't want to be killed or wounded. They don't want to fight like men. They want to win without being hurt themselves. Which is rather obvious. The other side also wants to win without being hurt, though many of them are so determined to have their side win that they are prepared to fight like real heroes and blow themselves up in attacks on the enemy. You won't find Americans being so manly.

Personally, I'd like lots of body armour and a bullet proof helicopter [preferably an invisible one]. That's if I couldn't have a Predator do the work with me hiding way over the ocean out of reach of the enemy. In fact, the USA is doing it like that. Sensibly.
