Companies looking for government handouts tend to concentrate near the capital cities, e.g. Washington D.C., Tokyo and Ottawa.
I think the atmosphere is right for them to get the money but the technological problems remain to be solved. I hope that they succeed. Even so, it will take a lot of time. Other solutions of the supply/demand gap in energy, such as reduction of the global population by large scale wars, are too ghastly to think about.
