Saw "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada."

I'm probably not an unbiased critic as I've always thought that Tommy Lee Jones' work is fabulous, even in schlocky movies.

But when he directs and stars in a Texican movie in which the Big Bend's incredibly beautiful scenery plays a huge part, then he's got my undivided attention.

Loved it, going to see it again, buying the DVD, shouting from rooftops--"see this movie!".

A ghost town, Shafter, with family significance has a part.

Levon Helm is fanastic.

Dwight Yoakum is delightfully cheesy.

The "bad" guy, a Border Patrol agent, is played magnificently by a young actor I had not noticed before.
