Buddy:
What Pro and many others on this thread don't seem to understand is that many of us do support traditional Republican issues and values. You mentioned small government, balanced budgets, avoiding the intrustion of government in private lives, avoiding foreign entanglements, and many more.
These have been Republican themes for decades...but they are not Bush themes. So when did being Pro- Bush define being Republican? Or Conservative?
More and more people are realizing there is a difference, and as the Bush administration continues to struggle under the constant refrain from the republican congressional delegations of "it was handled very badly" (plug in your own event - Katrina, Miers, wiretap, ports, cheney hunting accident, etc.), it will get worse and worse.
I voted for Reagan and Bush senior. I believed they stood for republican principles...Bush junior does not, as evidenced by his actions. What is the first veto this conservative republican threatens? Highway bill? Medicare Part D? Farm Bill? no....port deal. Amazing. |
