The third world marketing of formula is unconscionable. Thanks for bringing that up. I think it helps us to understand just how little these companies care about the real welfare of mothers and infants. If American mothers were losing thousands of babies because of formula, the formula makers would care no more about it than they do about the increased rates of disease in formula fed American infants. In other words their interests are not aligned with the interests of infants and mothers- but hospital interests are supposed to be- that is why there should be no marketing to new mothers of an inferior product by an institution that is supposed to protect their health. We know formula companies are unscrupulous, but hospitals are not supposed to be.
